Monitoring Services

Key Benefits

  • - Customized data based on any measurable MIB OID. This allows us to work with almost any SNMP enabled device.
  • - Troubleshoot issues much easier.
  • - Make better network decisions
  • - Web based SSL protected portal you can access from anywhere to see your current system status.
  • - Easily drill down into the data to see what was happening in a certain time period. Five minute timeslots help you pinpoint when an event started or stopped.

Every book ever written about network administration has a section on "base-lining". Base-lining is simply measuring and knowing what happens under "normal" conditions, so that abnormalities can be easily spotted. Our Network Monitoring service can assist you with exactly that. We provide web-based graphic measurement of key aspects of your network and servers such as:

- Server Load

  • - CPU Utilization
  • - Hard Drive Space
  • - Swap Space Utilization
  • - Memory Utilization
  • - Bandwidth Utilization
  • - Number of logged-in users
  • - Number of active processes on a server

We can graph almost anything there is an SNMP OID for!

How it Works

Typically this is set-up to work via a VPN between our firewall and yours, or via another secure connection. We configure your SNMP-enable devices to be monitored with custom community strings (we support SNMP V2 with V3 being supported in the very near future). We then begin monitoring your devices. You will receive an SSL protected URL and login credentials that allow you to view your graphs at any time and from anywhere you can get Internet connectivity. All you need is an SSL enabled browser (IE 5.0+; Mozilla; Netscape). The graphs are well organized and it is very easy to find the one you need.

If desired, we can set this system up in-house. It is completely done in open-source and your staff can be trained on its use.

This service is automatically included in our Managed Network offerings at all service levels.

This service is available as a "stand-alone" service and is priced per object monitored. Custom OID monitoring will have a commensurate setup fee. Devices to be monitored must be SNMP enabled.
